Catherine Sackey

Catherine Sackey, MPAP, MA, is a faith-rooted public affairs strategist, capacity-building consultant, and founder of Policy Over Politics Consulting LLC and POP LABS. Her work sits at the intersection of faith-based leadership, public affairs, nonprofit infrastructure, education equity, workforce development, civic trust, and community implementation.
She earned her MA in Political Science with a concentration in United Nations and Global Policy from Rutgers University in 2026 and is a Lead New Jersey Fellow, Class of 2026. She was selected as a Princeton P3 Scholar in 2024 and earned her Master of Public Affairs and Politics from Rutgers University's Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy in 2024, with a concentration in Education Policy Analysis.
Through Policy Over Politics Consulting, Catherine has supported nonprofits, grassroots organizations, founders, faith-based leaders, and community organizations with capacity building, governance, grant readiness, strategic planning, program design, stakeholder engagement, and organizational development.
Her leadership is rooted in faith, stewardship, restoration, public service, and the belief that communities do not need to be rescued; they need the infrastructure, trust, and tools to steward what they already carry.
Her academic foundation includes a BA in Sociology from Rutgers University, where she graduated magna cum laude and was named a Paul Robeson Scholar, along with associate degrees from Raritan Valley Community College and SUNY Sullivan. Her journey reflects persistence, restoration, faith, systems repair, and a long-term commitment to building institutions that honor both people and purpose.

POP LABS was created from a simple but urgent observation: many people doing meaningful work do not lack vision; they lack infrastructure. Grassroots organizations, small businesses, nonprofits, faith-based leaders, and community organizations are often expected to solve complex problems without affordable space, administrative support, strategy, funding guidance, data systems, or coordinated partnerships. I built POP LABS to respond to that gap.
This model brings together shared space, shared services, and shared accountability so that community-based leaders have the infrastructure, trust, and tools to steward what they already carry. POP LABS is designed to be a place where people can work, receive support, strengthen capacity, and access the resources that turn effort into lasting institutions.
At its core, POP LABS is about turning fragmented effort into coordinated implementation. It is about helping people move from ideas to implementation, from survival to sustainability, and from disconnected programs to stronger community infrastructure.
